Worried that i am not on track.

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery 2/26 and was 305 I had lost 38 pounds on my Pre op diet and as of today I am 252. I have gone from 26/28 to size 18 and they are getting loose. I am eating 600-700 calories a day, getting 70-80 gr Protein and about 64 oz fluids. I need to exercise more.. But my hubby and I have started a long walk every evening. My concern is that every time I meet with the surgeon he seems disappointed, he says I am ok but I just feel like I am not doing as well as I should be. I have to meet with the NUT and physical therapy again next week. I am really nervous about it as it gets closer, I have never had a good feeling with the NUT but going to her is a requirement of my program. I am striving to reach my goal of 180 I know I still have a long way to go. Does it sound like I am on track? Looking for feedback so I can mentally prepare for next weeks appt. Thanks in advance!

Some folks are just slower losers than other I think there's a forum for that.

As long as you are logging everything you eat, following the food plan, and staying active then I think you should meet your goals.

Did you ask your doctor what his expectations were for your weight loss? In any case, it sounds like you have control over your eating and it's working for you.

Don't fear the NUT, or the Dr for that matter. These guys are your team. You are paying them for their guidance and help. It sounds to me like you are doing well, but we can all use fine-tuning. I have not been back to my NUT, but I am constantly thinking back to things she said. Keeping and getting more active will be a big part of the program to get the results you want long-term. Good for you picking up your activities with your walks. Great time to relax and visit with your husband.

Thank you all for your feedback. The dr projected me to be at 202 for a goal my goal is 180 , which he says is "possible". I will try to stay positive and not fear my visits with him or the NUT. I keep trying to remind myself I chose this surgeon for his skill not his bedside manner. Thanks again!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
