@@Outerbeauty13 don't worry. Stick to your pre-op diet if you had one and keep on the path. The smallest thing like an infection or a cold or even arthritis can raise your white blood cell count.

They will come and let you know and tell you where to go from here. Relax give yourself some TLC this weekend and before you know it you will be on your way. It's better to be safe then sorry so it's a good thing they are making sure that you are 100% before going into major surgery.

I had the same thing happen to me last April. Mine went so high that I was put into the hospital on antibiotic drip for 3 days. Had to go to a Hematologist to find out what was wrong. Nothing was found and he released me for surgery. He told me I may be the odd person out that will always have somewhat of a HWC. Meds that you are taking could cause some of it. My new date was set for 7/7/14. Did all my pre-op yesterday. Got that call again today. YEPPERS, WBC was high again (still). Had to almost offer to go back into the hospital and have the antibiotics again for 3 days right before surgery. He finally gave in and Surgery is on again. I have known about my WBC since the late 80's, so it really wasn't anything new to me. Hang in there. Your surgery will happen.... Best of luck to you.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
