Hi everyone,

just got back home from hospital after surgery. The doctor wanted to keep me for an extra day/night, but my husband couldnt take another day off work.

I am still in shock, so please someone remind me why this is worth it. I am having the same feeling as the first time, when I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life and so on.....I think I am depressed. The gas pain was much worse than last time. My liver had attached itself to the scar tissue so it got cut ugh! and i am just wondering if I can ever again go through this kind of pain again!

I wish I had someone to look after my baby for a couple of days while this gets better! I hate being alone so far from my family....

ok, enough whining.... sorry, had to get it out

tellie, very very sore.....

I'm really sorry you're feeling so badly, Tellie. :) I really do think after a few days you'll be up and running again and hopefully you will decide it really is all worth it! I'm so much more relieved to know you got this taken care of. Just rest and take care of you for a few days! Try to walk as much as you can and this too shall pass!

Hugs to you... been there, done that. It IS tough!

Hi Tellie

I' m sorry you are in so much pain but as Leatha said it will all be worth it in the long run. At least you got everything taken care of and are on the road to recovery

Hang in there each day will get better and better.

(((hugs)))

Please take it easy and let yourself heal. Do you have a neighbor or someone from your church that can help you with your baby? Please just try to take it one day at a time. I know that's very hard. But you will get feeling better eacy day. Best of luck to you!:)

Tellie -

I am so, so sorry that this time round was so hard on you. But I'm glad you're fixed up, and in a couple weeks you'll probably feel good as new.

**hugs**

Tellie - I'm sorry it is so bad for you this time. I know it is especially hard with children. Maybe a friend or someone could give you a hand for a day or two. Hopefully you will be up and around soon.

Betty

Hi Tellie,

I am glad to hear that surgery went well, but sorry to hear that you are feeling worse than you did after the first surgery. I had the exact opposite experience... just goes to show you, I guess.

I hope you are feeling better soon. Do you have any friends who might help you with your baby? Maybe you could do a child care trade and take turns, so when you are feeling better you could watch their children. Just a thought... I feel so bad for you.

Take Care,

No doubt about it, the pain sucks. It's been two days since you wrote, Tellie, and I think we'd all like to know if you're feeling better. When I was in bad post-surgical pain, I found some comfort in reminding myself that no matter what I did, the next day, week, and month would come, and that I would be healing. Good luck, and please check in.

Hi again,

Sorry first of all for the drama, I get like that when I'm... well, like this.... Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and good wishes.

I wish I knew how to stop my brain from doing this to me, it's hard enough dealing with the physical pain.... I just went to the "zone" with all the morbid thoughts, the so sorry for myself, etc.. ( still in shock with the liver thing; the foreign object inside ( my alien) which I thought I had dealt with last time)

I am better. Still in pain, but healing fine I am sure, since I am starting to get hungry. I only noticed that this morning watching an add for kellog's "all bran" ( which I have never liked), and thinking " oh my god, that looks delicious!" My mom always says as long as you are hungry, you cant be too bad.

Thank you again.

Tellie

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
