You're stuck all day and can't bring in your own food

I always carried a bottle with vanilla Protein powder and a crystal lite and than all I had to do was add Water. I also always carry Protein Bars. I have them in my car as well as purse. don't think you can't have anything at some of these places. if you look around I bet you would find something healthy and easy for you to eat. thank goodness for us that most places now offer healthy choices. don't go hungry. low blood sugar isn't fun.. hve fun this summer on your outings

If there is nothing worth eating, then I simply don't eat....my life no longer revolves around food..can take it or leave it, and hunger is never an issue with me as a bander....

You don't get low blood sugar?

I didn't feel hungry but I knew I needed some Protein.

I once took as much as 70 units of Lantus every night, plus oral meds throughout the day.....it is because I don't eat like I used to, lost much weight and exercise, that I take nothing for my Diabetes and my Blood Levels are always good....

Plus, no one said you can't snack....or drink...

I go into places that say "no outside food" with Snacks all the time, no problem, and no mention of a lawyer or "discrimination" needed. Most places are very accommodating to dietary restrictions and allergies, especially if you are firm but polite if asked.

I always carry beef Jerky, almonds and a Protein bar in my bag if I'm going to be out all day. I know I can buy Water to go with my flavor drops so I'm set. I carry my own because it's easier to track, I know what I'm getting, and it saves me a lot of money with no waste. I don't even attempt to hide my stash, it's unnecessary.

I've become an expert at "smuggling" my own diet-friendly Snacks and bars into parks. I've resorted to putting snacks in a big tampon box inside my tote bag--no ones going to open it. If travelling with kids you can fill up one of those plastic refillable baby wipe containers, and they wouldn't question it. If it's a Water park, try putting in in the middle of a folded/rolled towel, then just shove it in your bag with your other towels. I also think the doctor's letter's a great idea. We Do whatever we have to do, right? Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
