So I was banded on march 10th 2014. I've lost weight every month, but it's been all me - no restriction in the band yet. Then I got another fill june 18th. Knowing that I'm getting close to finally feeling some restriction I've been extremely careful and paying attention. I now know immediately if I take one more bite I'll be sorry. When that happens I stop eating and get the hiccups. Im not stuffed, I'm not hungry. Im just not hungry if that makes sense. I've timed it and even after 3-4 hours I'm still not hungry. Could I possibly be close to that mystical green zone? It sure feels like it.

Sure sounds like it. Some of us prefer our bands a little on the loose side, I do. Some like it tight. But, be careful if you go for tight? Now's the time to look for all those soft satiety signals and it sounds like you're feeling them now. Your most recent adjustment could settle in just as it is or, get a little tighter or looser. 2 weeks will tell.

Also, your esophagus and stomach become more efficient machines in massaging food through the stoma which can give off the appearance of your band loosening up when in fact the muscles that control peristalsis are gaining strength.

Sounds like you're getting there. Might need some tweaking. I have found that it takes a couple weeks for my fills to settle in

Thanks for the input guys. My next fill isnt for 4 more weeks. I figure that will give me time to see if a fill is needed or if I'm good right where I'm right. Wow what a difference it makes to finally have your band talk to you and tell you to stop.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
