I started my journey in Feb. and am scheduled for June 24th with preop on June 19th. I guess I should be nervous but am not. I am so excited to be starting my new life in less than 2 weeks. I am doing well with the preop diet as my surgeon allows 1 small meal a day. Congrats and good luck to all June people. :)

June 23 for me too! On day four of my pre op diet but it's not too bad. I'm just HUNGRY. I'll be so relieved to have a repreive from being hungry soon. Even if it's only a few months of not being hungry.

I've bought some awesome cookbooks and a protien shake book on my Kindle. Amazon.com has some really good stuff on WLS diets and recipies.

I just can't wait to look down and see less of me.

It's a life changing experience and to help you if I can....think about how much your life will change for sure.

We have been in these overweight bodies so long that when these are taken away we will be thin and that is scary.

It's like getting a new pair of shoes. We have the old ones that are so comfortable even if we know they're ugly looking that throwing them away doesn't feel very good.

Deeward, i am only three days in, but I can safely tell you at this point, that if you do plenty of research, follow ALL of what you are taught, and be realistic expecting a certain amount of pain and discomfort, you will get through fine. So far for me, it is wayyyy worth it!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
