2muchfun 8,927 Posted June 5, 2014 Beef can be tough on the band unless you eat very small and chew to mush. I only eat hamburger and tenderloin now or I risk a stuck episode too. I assume your stuck episode is past?

2muchfun 8,927 Posted June 5, 2014 Well.. They drained my band and the food passed! Lesson learned .. That no matter how well I chew.. I can't eat some things! Having a stuck episode that last more than 3 hours is very unusual. Your band is wrapped around the top of your stomach and food stuck in the stoma or pouch is exposed to gastric acids that break down the food into nothing. Could you have swallowed some ligament or gristle that isn't meat? I love cherries but the pits scare me? I've nearly swallowed a couple. Can't imagine how long it would take gastric acid to break down a cherry pit and don't plan on finding out? Anyway, glad you're OK now but pay attention to big bites? 2 Leepers and BeachBish reacted to this
BeachBish 123 Posted June 5, 2014 What typoe of beef Dragonfly? As in Roast beef? I find ANY beef hard except tenderloin, then I cut it in tiny pieces. Sometimes It's SO hard to eat slow when in your head you are STARVING!So now it's liquids and starting all over with fills.Keep your chin up girlfriend! 1 2muchfun reacted to this
dragonflylvr21 161 Posted June 12, 2014 Update: I was actually stuck on snow peas ... Yuck ... No more for me .. Ever! My band was empty for a week and I actually lost a pound! I was aware of everything I ate because with an empty band ... my appetite came back full force! I hade 6.8 cc's in my 10 cc band and now I am at 4! Not the same as 6.8 but happy I have something! He said he will take me to 7 in 5 weeks! Hopefully by then I will be back in the green!
JustWatchMe 7,117 Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) I got stuck, really stuck, on pork chops tonight. Second attempt at pork chops so I guess that won't be a food I get to have anymore. For the first time I experienced sliming and spitting up. I fought it like hell but the burping up just wouldn't stop. I learned: The first bite of anything must be really small and well chewed. Wait a minute or so between the first bite and the second bite. At the first sign of feeling stuck, FOR GOD'S SAKE, WOMAN, STOP EATING! "Hmmm, that feels weird. Must have taken too big of a first bite. Here, my next two will be real small and chewed thoroughly." Yeah, um, NO! Those two extra bites were the ones that came up after fifteen minutes with about a cup of foamy phlegm. Live. And. Learn.
