Will this hurt? what happens afterwards? Will I be able to eat food? how will I know when I get that full sensation? Kinda scared!! Wonder how much will they put in there?

I just had my second fill last week. For both of my fills, no pain. I was offered a numbing anesthetic and took it. I was told 48 hours of full liquids after the fills. My first fill did not really give me much of a full sensation once I went back on solid food, but my second one did. My advice is to eat very slowly as you try to feel the satiety signals. Eating too fast causes me to chow down right past "enough" into "too much".

Good luck! And don't worry if you don't notice much difference the first time. Most people need several adjustments to get to their green zone.

I had my first fill last Thursday. 3cc. No numbing stuff. Felt nothing. They gave me a glass of Water and I let out a big burp. Oops. But nurse, who had band ten years ago, laughed and said that's common.

liquid for two days then back to food. Can't say I feel too much different. Next appointment in a month.

They are pros.... No need to fret. Took two minutes

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
