I went shopping this weekend with my family. While in banana Republic I tried on a sweater because I was cold. (not normal for this hot momma!) and it fit. I mean looked good in the front, back, it FIT! I told my family, "I am having a moment! " I bought it too. I have never in my life owned anything from Banana Republic! What a thrill!

I'm dying to fit into Ann Taylor... I went to Avenue and bought a couple of soft waistband shorts to help just after surgery but I'm planning on that being the last time I ever go in that store!

Congrats on the success!

Ginger Snaps I want to wear Ann Taylor and Talbots, oh and Brooks Brothers...

I just want to go to the misses or ladies section and buy something cute.... And have it fit... And not have to go to the fat lady section and have to choose between the tents covered in paisley or the clothes really made for skinny people that just look and feel terrible in big sizes. And pay more money because it's a larger size. I want to enjoy shopping for clothes. I want to buy heels and know I can wear them without killing my feet because my feet are used to dying in heels at 280+ lbs. I just want to stop seeing that look on the shop persons face when you have a question... like being big means you don't deserve respectful and good service. I just want to put on a pair of jeans and believe my husband when he says they look good

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
