My surgery is June 2 that gives me 2 weeks of pre-op.

What is everyone one doing to stay on track?

I am lucky that my pre-op does include food, everything high Protein + shakes.< /p>

Love to hear from any of you

Hi Camper Girl!

I started my pre-op on Friday and am scheduled for my gastric sleeve on May 30th. I am doing the same diet you are on. 3-4 Protein shakes a day and a small meal of meat & veggies. Lots of Water too of course! Staying busy helps too! Good luck to you :)

Hi! My surgery is scheduled for June 4th, so I'll be starting my pre-op Protein Shake diet this Thursday after my pre-op visit with my surgeon. Are you ladies feeling fairly satisfied with the restrictive diet or are you left feeling hungry a lot?

Sweet Baby it will be a challenge, my doctor requires either 5 cans of high Protein slim fast or 3-4 cans and 4-6 choices of unsweetened applesauce, sugar free fat free pudding and low sugar fat free yogurt. So.meals for me and my birthday is Friday.

I completely understand where you're coming from. It sucks that you can't have a treat for your birthday, but I think the surgery will be the best birthday gift you can give yourself. The pre-op diet will definitely be a challenge for me too, but I know we both will do good. You can do it!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
