I'm in charlotte too. Had my surgery with southeast bariatrics. I used dr volleinger. So far, so good. I am only one week post op. Maybe they can follow you

I'm using SE Bariatrics too but Dr. Kolasch is my Dr. I still have a June and July follow up before it goes to insurance so I'm hoping for a early fall date. About how long is your recovery?

I had surgery on the 9th of June. The first 3-4 days were uncomfortable, but manageable. I had a hernia repair also. Getting fluids in was difficult, but no problems now- except my little tummy doesn't like certain Protein powders. Premier chocolate is my current fav. I drink 3 per day, 30grams of protein in each, 11oz each. I use flavored drops in my Water. I have one incision that has been a little sore. Good luck as you wade through the pre op stuff. My first appointment was in February and I got sleeved in June :)

I had the sleeve Dec. 3, 2014 at Wake Forrest with Dr. McNatt. The folks at Wake Forrest Weight Management have been great. Blessed to live near great medicine.

Is this thread dead, or are there so more NC Sleevers out there? Just curious. I am in Raleigh and have a date of March 17th.

I'm going through SE Bariatrics too but Dr. Kolosch(sp) is doing my sleeve.

I'm going to see dr V, but was curious as to your experience at southeast Bariatric? My appointment with surgeon is February 6th

I had my sleeve last June with Dr V. I have had no problems. He is very down to earth and will answer any questions. I wish I had done this years ago. 55 pounds lighter and another 20 to go. Good luck to you on your journey

So nobody in Raleigh or a date in March?

Hi largeininc! I'm right outside of Raleigh, had surgery with Duke metabolic weight loss center (durham) Monday 12/01/14. I started all my pre-op stuff at Bariatric Specialists of NC in Cary, NC But had to switch to duke due to insurance requirement. Loving my sleeve and progress so far. I started in May, I had a 6 month program for insurance so March will come quick!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
