I agree! I will miss Bagels and pizza more than anything, but they're part of the reason I'm obese. I can't eat them in moderation, and I don't want to. I think the reason for banding is to get healthy and thin.

I've accepted the fact that there are just certain foods I won't be eating anymore, kind of like an alcoholic accepts the fact that (s)he can't drink anymore.

Hey, Jono and Jenin you took the words right out of my mouth! You should definately not be eating pizza three weeks out. If you must have a slice, wait until you have lost most of your weight and then and only then have it as an occasional treat. Susannah

Ask yourself why you would even WANT pizza? You didn't go through surgery to eat crap like that. Since I am going to eat only 2 ounces I want it to be the best for me. With 15 year old twins, pizza is part of my life. If they order in I use the chance to steam a nice Alasken crab leg for myself. At the parlor I order a fried chicken breast and remove all the skin and have it with a small salad. Once you get your mind around it....you would not want to pass up some delicious and healthful lean Protein for carbs and fat.

Just my thought ... but then again I have my problem foods as well

Depends on what is on your pizza.. If you make it yourself, it can be quite healthy. Carbs are necessary for optimal health and energy, just not to excess. My favorite is one with balsamic viniger, spinach, tiny bit of ricotta cheese, and shrimp. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
