Administrative Fees?

Recommended Posts

Was anyone else charged administrative fees. I feel like I am paying to have my appt's set for me or to fund the doctors they work with. I would like to use my own doctors that I choose. Is it possible to get all of you testing done outside the program?

Your question is unclear. Who is charging you admin fees? A program a hospital a doc?

You should call your insurance and find outbid they cover these or consider it ok under the hospitals contract with them.

I've never heard of it and I've been in insurance for 20 years. Interesting to see what is covered by this administrative fee they are charging you.

Your insurance may not like them charging you a cash fee outside of an agreed to contract with hospital.

I was advised by the program advocate that this is not covered by insurance or part of the deductable or coinsurance. The advocate explained the Fees were for coordinating your information package to submit to the insurance company. She did say that they could not guarantee it would be approved but the program would make sure all the documented requirements are met. They basically send you to an in house dietician,NUT, cardiologist, and psychologist and they sent all the appointments.

Sounds like you are paying for services that are their job. In other words everyone else gets for free

Call your insurance

I had to pay a $1000 administrative fee. Really sucks.

What did you get for this extra $1000? It's not like they can control an insurance approval. So what do they do for that money?

I have the same question. That's extortion. lol I feel like they know we will pay to live a better life but that is insane .

This sounds fishy. I paid nothing that wasn't billed through my insurance. Hospitals in the DFW metroplex offer support groups for free. If I contact the hospital NUT, that would billed as additional services, but my Dr's office is available (I'm sure within reason) for a year, post surgery.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
