The scale finally moved!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved April 7th and dropped 23 lbs VERY fast. Then nothing. I kept reading about the three week stall and just tried to believe that it would start up again, but I was getting very discouraged. I was weighing everyday and would be anywhere from 249 to 251. This past weekend I went out of town so I couldn't weigh (and didn't need to). I just focused on Protein and fluids and did A LOT of walking. I weighed this morning - 242! Hallelujah!!!

Take that scale out back and hit it with a sledge hammer...This is not about numbers hun. This is about getting healthy and changing the way you see food...numbers can really play with your head as you well know. Don't forget we are women and we go up and down like yo yo's .So if you are following numbers you will get discouraged....

I know I am different from most people on here. I am 17 months out and never experienced a stall. Why? Because I have only weighed myself maybe 5 or 6 times. Most of the time it has been at my doctors office... I have faith in what I am doing and follow the program. And it works for me.....I know I've lost by my clothes the way I feel. Things like that....

I don't know why I chose to do it this way. Probably when I get to maintenance I will weigh once a week...But for now...Nope I love the adventure more then the numbers... :)

This is so well said I'm scheduled for vsg May 9th and I want nothing to do with scales, I will go off of how my clothes fit, I read about too many people getting depressed over numbers on the scale even after they've acknowledged that their clothes fit looser, I don't want to be in this boat,if I stall I don't need to know about it if I know that I'm doing the right things.

Congratulations!! I was sleeved a day after you and lost 22 pounds and then hit a stall. I am at day 13 of this stupid stall!! Kudos to you; I hope my stall dies and never comes back!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
