Well I am at the half way mark now for the 6 month diet required by the insurance company. I have nutritionist left to do and chest xray and blood work. Cannot wait to get through these newt 3 months. I've gone to so many appointments and jumped through all the hoops including having my gallbladder removed. July cannot come soon enough!

Pagoda for you in your excitement for the surgery to happen. July will be here in no time. You have enough time to make changes in your habits prior to the surgery which will help u after surgery.

Wow you got it all done! Way to go! I would've been done but I had gallbladder surgery and I can't do the blood work until 2 months prior at the very soonest because it's only good for 2 months.

Oh ok you'll get there glad the gallbladder surgery went well. I was kind of down because yesterday because I haven't lost one pound yet I haven't gained anything either but I've really been trying from Portion Control to Protein to Water and I haven't lost anything. And then I came to the realization that that's the whole reason I'm doing this because I can't do it on my own I need help.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
