My surgery is scheduled for May 7. I have tried every Protein Shake and powder I can find. Can't stomach any of them. I am such a picky person! I could not even stomach the pre-op Meal Replacements so the nut had to create a special liver shrinking diet for me. I am terrified I won't be able to get my Protein in after surgery!! Any suggestions?

Have you tried Premier Protein? I love those, they remind me of how pudding tastes. Good luck! I've heard our tastes change after surgery so hopefully you will start liking them more.

have you tried Arbonne protien shake powder? It's not bad if its really cold. I haven't had the surgery yet but have been dieting using the powder. it's got 15 grams of Protein.

I really like the vanilla creme from GNC. I mix mine with a little Decaf instant coffee. It is good and has 24g Protein in one scoop.

I know how you fell. Years ago I had my mouth wired shut for 6 weeks and had to rely on Protein Powder. It was horrible. All brands are sweet. Not sure how I will make it after surgery. One day at a time and try not to think about how awful they are.

I had to dilute every Protein I found. I couldnt stand any of the RTD shakes..too sweet and thick unless I diluted them at least 1/2 and 1/2 with Water or skim milk. For powders if it said to mix with 8 oz I would mix with at least 16oz. I really liked the Premier Protein chocolate but only if I added 16oz skim milk to the 11oz serving. That made it taste like chocolate milk instead of a gross, over sweet, thick Protein shake.

Have you tried Isopure or Syntrax nectar powders? Totally different tastes and texture than "regular" Protein Shakes. Personally, I thought the Isopures were gross, but I still drink Syntrax Nectar (apple and cherry are my favs)

The other option is to add unflavored Protein Powder to broths and Soups and yogurt and anything else you can tolerate in order to get your Protein intake up.

Try the protein in some of your favorite juices.

I've got a fridge full of Isopure. Still have not found a flavor that I can stomach. I do enjoy PB3 in chocolate or vanilla shakes. Blended with ice, so smooth and COLD. I have been using some Medifast products as well. I need a variety!!!!

What about Carnation? And add a tbsp of Protein powder? W 2% milk. I use Unjury pretty much taste less. It tastes like a chocolate shake! Yummy!

If it's the sweet flavor that you don't like then you should try the Unjury chicken Soup. It's such a nice change from all the sweetness from the others. I really like it and it's a great way to get the Protein in, they also have an unflovored protein powder from Unjury and you can add it to anything... Good luck!!!

I love the EAS vanilla brand from BJ's Wholesale Club. It comes in a 5-LB bag for $27.00. I too am having surgery on May 7th. Good luck to you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
