Hello everyone, I am new here and still pre-op.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I'm so happy to have found a sleeve forum.

I'm still pre-op, don't have a date yet but just found out my insurance approved the procedure.

So should be very soon.

I've been a nurse for 30 years in a busy hospital and unfortunately due to my crazy busy

career never took the time to take care of myself. :(

Now that I'm pretty much disabled I have no choice but to focus on getting my life back.

So I'm on this journey beginning with the sleeve.

Hopefully I can soon say good bye to the 10 plus meds I take daily.

I'm like a chemistry experiment. LOL.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hanging out with you guys and gals and learning alot.

Thanks for having me. :)

Christine

Thanks. I'm psyched.

Nervous but psyched.

I have so much still to do but eager to get on the surgical schedule.

I think I have made a good choice of surgeon so at least I feel at ease with that.

Been trying the Protein drinks.

There are soooooo many to choose from its tough to decide.

Also trying to get used to herbal tea instead of my nightly glass of wine.

Oh how I will miss my wine. LOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
