My question is...I am paying cash for the surgery due to have insurance with strick exclusions. But now my doc wants me to have colonascopy, EGD. Will that throw flags to my insurance carrier and cause them to excluced payments for any sleeve related charges?

Nope. Just tell your Dr that you have a bariatric exclusion. They can code it as general health related concerns. I had the full gambit minus the colonoscopy and I was in the same boat as you.

I self-payed, and also paid cash for my daughter's surgery. Our insurance paid for pre-op tests no problem.
