Changes for me

Recommended Posts

Thank God---10 days post "Lap banding" and I am feeling ok. The only bad part of the banding--the port site on the left side. Finally I can sleep on that side. My next appointment is April 18 for a fill. Problem is--my Dr started having labor contractions the very next day--Yes Dr Weaver is pregnant. I joked with her about not going into labor during the surgery- It happened the next day--so instead of the 23 hours stay--I had to stay 28 hours--until her colleague got in... I sure hope I have some lost weight. I saw one thing that made me freak--that big belly looked like a femal belly that had dropped--like right before a baby comes--lol. I am looking forward to my goal of 107--I am giving myself only 12 months of losing it. Sorry sprots fans--if the energy level peaks--I am going to have a heck of a workout plan of the old days. I am building up my stamina with walking---Oh it seems like I am just running on air right now. The energy level--mmm--is so low now.

It's ok--I brought me some "Noni juice with the Vitamins" to go with my chewable Centrum. That made my stomach hurt at first (felt like hunger), but I had some more energy. I tried to take one of my so called 3 hour power naps. It turned into a 45 minute nap. So--maybe it's rising up--that good old energy.:faint:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
