Exercise "March sleevers" who is up & moving?

Recommended Posts

My surgery was March 5th. At my 2-week check-up my doctor said my incisions looked great and after 4 weeks post-op I could do whatever I wanted as long as I didn't work my stomach/abs. So I started hitting weights the beginning of last week and I've felt amazing. I get most of my cardio in by walking during my breaks at work. I started my weight load off light with 10lb dumbbells but I've progressed on certain exercises to 15lbs. I actually worked chest, shoudlers, and triceps yesterday and am sore today, so I know I'm benefitting now. My next doctor's appointment is next Thursday, and I will weigh and update then. I've tried to stay away from the scales as much as possible so as to not discourage myself. I see and feel the inches falling off by my clothes. The weight is a number to me, and I try to see it as nothing more. Hope this was helpful! :)

I walk a lil over a mile most days, some days I do about 5 miles. Friday I walked 2 & from the surgeon office, in total it took over 2 1/2 hours. I need to some strength training & I just did 5 leg raises jolding hubby ankles & he tried to pushed my legs back down when I brought them up. Slow & steady don't want to hurt my stomach.

Im 10 days out & down 13 pounds since surgery. Just walked for 1.42 miles, it took me 50 mins.

I walked 25 mins in one direction & turned around to come back home. Woohoo I feel good.

What is that app you use to track your distance and time? It does feel great to get up and move! Congrats! Keep up the good work!

I am up and walking. My surgery was on March 11th and I have been walking a mile a day on the treadmill and started swimming last week. I also went to Disneyland today with my kids for about 4 hours and we walked my booty off but it was way to much, I ended up coming home and needing a nap. But at least I am up and walking. Keep moving forward, Good Luck!

I'm a DL pass holder and have only gone once since surgery. It took sooo much out of me. Not to mention there is like nothing wls friendly to eat there (I was in puréed when I went. Ended up eating a little unsweetened applesauce.) I probably won't go back for another few weeks, so that way I can be on regular foods by then.

I went to the chicken place and ordered a kids meal. I could eat one drumstick and some mashed potato, it was so good. Next time I am going to add a Dole Whip.....there are also lots of fruit stands there...I can always find something and I brought Isopure in a Water bottle...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
