3rd day post op and everything is going down fine,. However, I have the sensation in my chest like you might get if you swallowed something too big per band. I am doing only liquid and meds and repeat have had no issues - with Fluid going down or regurgitation and no pain other than this "sensation" I am assuming it is normal and will ease up as I heal? I would like feedback.

To me that is your new 'full' feeling. At least it is for me. I had my band placed on Feb 14.

I had no Fluid in my band at surgery, so it subsided by week 6 when I went for my first fill this past week, and now that feeling is back when I eat.

I had the same feeling when I first got banded (3/10/14) Once swelling went down from surgery it subsided some. I still get that feeling. Usually tells me to stop eating right now or I'll be really uncomfortable.

try crushing or chewing your medication. sometimes they can be just like eating something solid. after a fill I have to chew my medication for a few days. but I take a lot of medication and I bet its more than 4 oz. but that feeling you are getting is your pouch being full. it can even happen with liquids if you gulp some by mistake. I can't eat ice cream. it doesn't melt fast enough and causes that pain and slime. lots and lots of slime. and when I say ice cream I mean sugar free and measured. but its off my list now of foods I can eat.

It could also be gas stuck in your chest. It happens to get stuck there so often. so make sure you walk around as it's the only way to re-absorb and get it out

Thank you for the replies - I have this feeling early morning with no eating and relatively constantly. Can someone explain "slime" please?

Sliming is the body producing excessive mucous when food gets stuck in the stoma, it will not go down and you will have to spit it out. Yes it is gross but it happens.hope that helps!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
