May 2014 Sleevers

 • Popular Post

I finally got my insurance approval this week and my surgery is scheduled for May 20. If seems SO far away but hoping the time will fly by. I've been trying to adapt my diet to more like it will need to be post-op but find myself eating horribly about once a week. I think it's the food funerals starting. I did really well during the week and had lost 2 pounds this week and then last night after work ate whatever I wanted (it wasn't good). Are others going they this same struggle?

Would love to find people who are anxiously awaiting their May surgery dates and be here to provide support for each other as we start this journey to change our lives!

Ugh! So flipping mad right now. Looks like my surgery will be delayed because my insurance company won't give approval in time. After 3 week liquid diet, I'm about to go out to every fast food place and order one of everything!

Oh, I am so sorry for you, girl!!! Hang in there, and don't give up. It's very likely the ins people will step up at the last minute. Keep calling!

My tummy hurts every time something goes In There.... Lots of nagging pain at the big in is ion point. I have walked and walked and walked. I think I'm gonna need some gas x strips

When was your surgery again? If it's been more than a few days, I might give the surgeon's office a call.

Try a heating pad and see if that helps. I definitely used gas x strips for the first few days, and they did help manage the gas in my tummy. They won't help if it's gas pain from the CO2 they used to inflate your abdomen during surgery, but that's why I was recommending the heating pad.

Good luck, and I sure hope you feel better soon.

Noooooo don't do it. My surgery was cancelled because my insurance denied me at first, then it was scheduled again 3 days later.

Stay on track, it will come when u lrast expect it & don't want to have to start all over. U will soon be on the loser's bench. Keep up the good work.

Had my sleeve may 5th. Still having some gas like pains and can't drink much at a time. I really want to drink something a little thicker than broth but not suppose to until 2nd week. I just feel weak right now. Plus my feet were swelling from the long ride home.

I had mine on the 5th as well. I think mines broken. I can get all my protein and water. No food has come up yet.

I checked it out and you're right! According to Trademarkia, Dr. Kim owns Fortify Nutritionals (and the trademark), which makes BariEssentials. Wow.

Yeah, I flat out asked them when they said I had to order the shakes from his website.

I had a good visit yesterday. PA said the pain is from the hernia repair. I had a pretty large one I guess. Also the gas pain isn't fun. I had lost 11 lbs since surgery on Monday which felt great!

So, I've lost 37 since starting the weight loss process. I lost 13 on the shakes for 4 weeks. :)

En Route to Tijuana, sleeved tomorrow!!

Good luck! Mine is tomorrow too!

Good luck to you too!

Good luck ladies, I was sleeved on May 7, and it's wonderful!

Good luck ladies! You will do great and be so happy!!!

Good luck to all my fellow May Sleevers! My surgery was cancelled because my insurance company couldn't get the approval in time. I'm so disappointed but the past few days have given me a new perspective. When I found out about the cancelation I thought I would binge on everything, but I didn't. I realized that this will be a new life foe me and I want to do it right. All the nerves I had about whether I would be able to succeed went out the window. Feeling confident, ready and patiently waiting for a new surgery date.

My surgery was at 9:30. I've been dozing on and off from the pain meds. As expected, most of the pain is from gas. Doc said everything went great! Thanks to everyone for the prayers and well wishes.
