  1. It was okay - lol too sweet haha
  2. No lifting for 6 weeks is what my doctor said, nothing over 10 lbs for two weeks and 20 for the four after that. I'm on day 8 and tired. I am asking my Dr tomorrow for another week off to adjust.
  3. I chewed and spit a coconut candy in Mexico lol then I felt bad because the poor vendor thought I didn't like it. I ended up buying a case for my coworkers haha
  4. So I was sleeved May 12, and finally weighed - I started at 370, lost 14 lbs pre op on a 10 day liquid diet, and am down 8 more lbs first week post op, for a total of 22 lbs lost! The first week was rough but every day gets better, I am so glad I made this decision and followed through with it!
  5. My experience was amazing. I felt comfortable at all times and staff was very knowledgable. It helps having a group of people to go through the process with. I was really glad I had a companion with me though...
  6. It went well! So far so good. Still on liquids, no hunger. Managing about 400-500 calories a day and doing good with water intake. Have had a few sips of protein shakes but that's about it. Haven't weighed myself because I'm recovering at my cousins for a few days and she had no scale! Home tomorrow so then I can update on weight loss
  7. I'm officially sleeved! Lots of gas pain but other than that all good
  8. My surgery is tomorrow! I'll let you know!!
  9. I meant Almanza in my last post (not Alvarez) I'm here now, surgery is tomorrow. I was soooo nervous but everything has been great and I've met some great people so far. Joining the losers bench in the morning! If you have any questions about Almanza and HMN hospital, let me know! I'll be happy to share anything...
  10. Good luck to you too!
  11. En Route to Tijuana, sleeved tomorrow!!
  12. Fort McMurray AB, May 12, Dr Almanza
  13. I'm May 12 with him, I'll let you know how it goes!
  14. I had a lot of reservations about telling anyone, except my mom, and my cousin who is going with me. As my surgery date gets closer I gave been more comfortable sharing with some close friends. I even told my boyfriend (even though I was embarrassed but he was really supportive). My therapist had encouraged me to share, as she felt that if I was not telling people because I was ashamed, that it was because I was judging myself and not because my friends/family were actually going to judge me. I have to say she was right. I feel better being honest (only with those close enough to really care). Everyone was excited for me, and it felt good to share that excitement.
  15. Search "Hospital Weight Gain" a few people have posted about it in the PCOS forum and seem to have gained 7-10 lbs of water from IV fluids etc in the hospital. I'm sure it will come off quick. Good luck!
  16. My surgery is May 12. Exactly two weeks away! Sh*ts getting real!! Lol. I start my 10 day liquid preop diet on the 2nd.
  17. That's awesome! Good to know there is someone local just in case! You never know when you might need some in person support. And yeah it would be great to have a Canadian sleevers thread!
  18. Originally from Nelson BC, but have been in Fort McMurray AB for the last four years.
  19. That's amazing! Congratulations. I'm praying/hoping that I can be that successful my first few months. I'm 2 weeks preop to date.
  20. That's amazing! Congrats on the success I cannot wait to get this surgery over with, I just want to start my new life already lol
  21. I just turned 29 and my appointment is May 12 for surgery. I also want to enjoy my thirties, and finally set myself free from the extra weight I carried around my whole life. Have you had surgery yet? Instagram ashl3yoh
  22. Funny coincidence - my name is Ashley middle name Brooke... How are you doing to date? My surgery is in 2 weeks... Getting nervous/excited
  23. So reassuring! My highest was 370. I'm 361 now and about to start my preop liquid diet. Congrats on the success!
