Everyone, myfitnesspal username is jeanneatherley. Started logging again today. Feel free to add me if you'd like. I walked a few minutes today with my 5lb weights. Boy can I feel a difference between them and my 3lb weights. Every little bit helps.

I'm . . . skellertx on MFP ;)

Jeanne, I am SO GLAD for you logging your food and getting in some walking. It really does help, and I need to do that, too. I know when we got together on Sunday I mentioned I was starting the pre-op diet the next day, but I moved that to Thursday once I realized that is my 3-weeks-from-surgery date. So . . . Thursday.

I think I need to buy a steak to get me started on the no-more-than-30-carbs-no-less-than-70-protein-grams pre-op diet. That will be something to look forward to.

I have been walking the dogs at least a mile every day, but I need to get my bike in order again and start doing some cycling, too. And I've not been back swimming in almost two weeks, so that needs to get back in place, at least until surgery.

Working on getting my work projects in order, too, 'cause I'm a little worried about that. Hopefully I'll be able to take the two weeks off without too much trouble :/

Smooches all around!

Shelly definitely have your steak. That's a lot of Protein. nothing wrong with starting at 3 weeks. That will give you time to detox from the caffeine and carbs. The first week or so will be rough but you can do it. Keep your eye on the prize and stay focused.

You reminded me that I had lost my commitment to logging my intake with everything my family has had going on the in the last couple months. I decided it was time to start again.

I didn't get my walking in on Sunday or Monday but my focus is back today. My 5k is less than 2 weeks away. My goal is to complete it in under 60 minutes walking.

Hi All, I am trying to find info on good surgeons in our area so that I won't have to drive up to DFW. I went to a, well not sure what to call it other than a sales call in Killeen and was not impressed with the outfit. So I decided to put it off and try Weight Watchers, which worked for about 12 pounds and then it was back to business as usual. I'd greatly appreciate any and all imput!

1BadWitch, you might want to look at Southwest Bariatric, http://www.southwestbariatric.com/. They come well-recommended, and have clinics in Austin and Round Rock.

Southwest Bariatric in Austin is decent. However they do more then just bariatric surgeries. There is a place called True Results in Austin as well that specializes in bariatric surgeries. I had a co-worker go through True Results and liked them. Not all insurance carriers will cover them though. Most insurance requires you to go through a center of excellence and the only center of excellence in Austin is Saint David's Hospital.

Have you checked in Temple at the Scott and White? Or is Mary Harden Baylor still around? I'm not sure what programs are available in Killeen.

I went through the Southwest Bariatric clinic in Round Rock. Dr Marquez is extremely compassionate. She puts it to you straight though. I like her.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
