So as a gift to myself for losing over 100 pounds, I bought a new car!

Thank you so much everyone. I think my point of posting this is because I see a lot of people (especially overweight) people who put everyone and everything in their lives first first first. Whether it's their kids or spouse or family or work. We need to take some time, energy and even some money (if you can) to treat and be good to yourself. Because if you wont, who will?

this is so true. I needed to hear that. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Congrats... Nice car! and thanks for the incentive. I had been saving for a down payment on a new truck for two years, but ended up using all my savings to pay for this surgery. But now I will start saving again! Maybe it will be my reward for maintaining two years out. ;)

I bought myself a new car two weeks after my band was removed. I had lost 100 lb and suffered for over a year and told my hubby " life's too short, I'm getting my dream car"

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
