My surgery was just scheduled for April 14th. I am excited and very nervous. For right now I will just worry about my pre-op liquid 2 week diet. Who else has to do 2 weeks?

I just got scheduled for April 22nd and I was expecting to be super excited, instead I am freaking out and second guessing my decision. I am up all night worried, can't sleep, nauseated, I can't seem to find any peace. I tried writing everything down and just want to get it off my head! I've tried watching the videos on youtube that originally inspired me but nothing seems to be working. I feel like they dragged this out way to long and it lost all its excitement about a month ago. I started my journey in June last year and was expecting a December-January date but they dragged it out so long that it lost its excitement. April is a terrible month for me because my family celebrates three birthdays this month and I will be in the hospital for my son's 17 th birthday. And six days out on my birthday. Maybe I'm self sabotaging. Nothing seems to be making feel better. But the thought of cancelling really bothers me too. I will be so disappointed if I can't get myself under control and go through with this.

Diane I'm sorry u have lost ur excitement. Maybe take some time to reflect on why u began this WLS journey and the benefits u will reap. Maybe envisioning urself at goal or envisioning having to do all the things uve been limited doing being over weight. We have 3 children one of which is my 22 year old daughter that's having VSG surgery on the same day as myself so I totally understand not wanting to miss the upcoming bday celebrations including ur own but many more bdays will come but will this opportunity be here for u next year or the year after? Idk about u but I have some health issues as a direct result of being obese and even more so than losing the weight I want those issues to go away. I hope u find something that sparks ur excitement again but in the end this is a personal decision that only u can make. Whatever u decide is best for u to have the surgery or not we all support u. Wishing u the best and if we don't speak again Happy BDay!

I haven't got everything I need yet, but my sweet husband is in to bodybuilding and he got on a website and got me all kinds of free samples of Protein shakes and drinks so I could find one I like.

I think it's pretty normal to be second guessing. I am going through that too right now. As with you, I have my birthday this month as well as 3 other family members. We all Celebrate with food and I am just going to have to learn to celebrate along with them without food. I was extremely excited after my meeting at the end of February and as soon as I had my surgery date, I said oh sh**! haha....I know everything is going to go great and I just need to keep the positives in my vision instead of focusing on the negative. I started sabotaging and making excuses as to why I shouldn't. Good luck and try to keep the good stuff in your site, you can do it :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
