Essentially you're pretty much on some sort of low carb diet with small portions is how I look at it. I've found great Paleo, Atkins, South beach, etc type recipes that work.

Breakfast

Usually some sort of egg idea from Pinterest. I love the egg muffin tin ideas.

eggs, ham and cheese are my favorite

I love chicken and avocado (or if I'm lazy - little premade guacamole cups)

chicken and black Beans - or some sort of taco night (I typically avoid the shell but will sometimes eat it depending on my mood and my bands mood).

Grilled steak and green veggies

lunch - I typically eat out or have leftovers

Chipotle - single taco - chicken and black bean, salsa, cheese and sour cream

Panera - usually turkey chili

Chickfila - kids meal - grilled chicken nuggets with a fruit cup.

Snacks -

Yougurt

Fruit / veggies

Beef Jerky

Sometimes just coffee with skim milk for Protein

Everyone has great suggestions.. I eat various things each day. Breakfast is my pretty standard meal of the day, I usually eat eggbeaters, turkey sausage and sometimes wheat toast but mornings are my tighter time lunches are chicken salad , chili, chicken tortilla Soup, sometimes grilled chicken nuggets with either veggies or once in awhile fruit. dinner varies sometimes I make husband spaghetti or fried foods but I try to stay away from Pasta, rice potatoes and bread so I either make a grilled fish or chicken and veg or substitute with lean cuisine. Good Luck and listen to the signals ignoring those can bring you misery. Being stuck is not fun.

Is it me or did anyone else experience this. Yesterday was a little rough for me. I wasn't feeling well but ok. I did what I knew I shouldn't have done.... got on the scale. I know i'm just 2 weeks out from surgery and I am still healing and bloated. What triggered the scale was someone at work said " Hey your hips are bigger than mine now.. lol""" Needless to say I was hurt (don't know why) but i felt self-conscious for the remainder of the day. I do my best to get in my Protein daily or close to it. I eat under my 1000 calorie limit every day. I track my meals down to the Vitamins and benefiber on fitness pal. When I get the urge to eat something I should I drink Water or go walk around my department. I make sure that i don't eat and drink (i time it like a hawk). Last night i went to bed saying why did I do this, when will I be normal again. Then to top it off i'm dealing with this bad breath thing despite scrubbing my tongue and mild Constipation. What am I doing wrong. I realize it will not happen overnight but it doesn't change the fact that sometimes it can be disappointing.Sorry for the vent. I just wanna go home and cry.

Im sorry some one at work was so damn insensitive, but hang tough. Like 2muchfun says all the time. You just had surgery worry about healing. Im not sure what stage your in but for some reason full liquids made me gain weight. After that I refused to step on the scale. Now I pay attention to how my cloths fit and not the scale. Your doing great keep up the good work and remember this is a marathon not a sprint and you will see your hard work pay off in time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
