What is it like for you eating in the green zone?

Recommended Posts

I had my 2nd fill today for a total of 5.5-6cc (dr said somewhere in between) I know I'm probably still a little swollen (that happens after a fill right?) but I am just curious what I would be looking for as far as being in the green. I assume it'll happen soonish since I'm a bit more than 1/2 way filled. Also, if you can please share what you are filled at (not that it truly matters since everyone is different, just curious). Thanks!!!

We are asking the same question! I have 6.5 in my 10 band and feel different! Last fill there was little difference but this was different! Satisfied quicker and not hungry after three hours! I only got .1 cc's today so I didn't think it would do anything! Hopefully I am green!

For me, the green zone or sweet spot, made the hunger aspect disappear. I am on the tight side in the morning and can eat more as the day goes by. If I am busy, or just intent with something I am doing, it would be easy to forget to eat, something I have never experienced in my life before. I think anyone can eat high calorie items like cake & ice cream, but like Carolina Girl says, just because you can, does not mean you should.

Its more a feeling of eating to live, not living to eat. I hope you both reach your green zone! Feel satisfied, and not deprived! Eat your Protein first! Good luck!

At 6, by the way.

Green zone meant I could eat 1/2 - 3/4 cup of dense Protein and veggies, not feel stuck or uncomfortable and not get hungry for 3-6 hours. Usually I'd plan meals for 8 am, noon, a protein snack at 3-4 and dinner at 7pm.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
