I was sleeved March 12 and I just feel hungry all the time. I don't know if I'm really hungry or if it's all in my head. Whatever it is, it is very frustrating. I'm still only allowed liquids for another week and a half. Any ideas on how to kick this feeling???

Well, it could be head hunger. Also, acid in your stomach can mimic hunger. Are you taking a good PPI? Those can help with the hunger. Also, are you getting enough Protein? Increasing that could help with the hunger. Good luck!

I found that I had very strong salt cravings that mimicked hunger when I was drinking only. I actually put a Pretzel Crisp in my mouth, chewed it up and spit it out at one point! Then, I bought some Better than Boullion in beef flavor, and started making mugs of very warm Soup with it, and added some unflavored Protein powder to it. It had microscopic bit of meat in it that really helped my psychologically, as well as helped with the salt cravings. Once I went to purees and I started having laughing cow cheese, everything got better. Liquids just don't fill you up very well. Solids rock!

I'm always hungry!! From day 4 I've been hungry. I'm 4 weeks and I find I am always eating. Small amounts of course but still eating 5-6-7 times a day. I swear I need an appetite suppressant. I'm going to ask the dr. I just don't think I should be this hungry.

I'm almost 10 weeks out and in the first few weeks when I was on liquids I always felt hungry. When I started more solid foods it started to get better. Now I struggle as I find I can tolerate more food than I did at first. My doctors office says this is normal.

I thought the hormone that makes you hungry was also taken out with most of your stomach? I'm not too sure about it being this fake head hunger it's real I go eat a cookie hunger

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
