I know this is more of a cosmetic question, but I was unsure where to post something like this. Sorry if this is not a good place.

I have not really noticed enough sagging to worry about it yet (I got sleeved in January), but I am thinking about things to prepare myself for the future. Does anyone ware shapeware, like Spanx? I am pretty sure I will get some for times I am wearing something a little clingy. I have never worn any before and am want to know what the best brand is? I don't really have a lot of money to spend, but am willing to pay for quality. I don't want to have to buy new shapeware every week because it is garbage or because it does not work.

Let me know what your experience is. Best price? Best quality....control? Comfort?

Great question and I hope there are answers. I also always wondered if you are a size 14 do you buy a size 14 garment or do you buy a smaller size? Do they come in different sizes or S M LG XL ect.. and if you are an XXL do you buy an XL so everything is pulled in better or would that just make it too tight?

I found some Shapewear that I like better than Spanx. It's called classic shapewear. It's great for after tummy tucks too

I bought Spanx 3 yrs ago. Very spendy and was too uncomfortable to wear sitting. I found sweet nothings and Danskins at Walmart. I'm not a walmart shopper but ordered online. Very happy with purchase. Got 5 articles compared to 1 spanx.

I bought a tank top one from jc penneys. It's the kind that go just below your boobs, you wear your own bra. It's comfy, and just enough "hold".

I buy these leotard type things (with a clasp between your legs) from target. I think it was like 20 bucks and it works well. It goes under my bra, so that you don't need to worry about bra size. I am wearing an XL and currently a size 14-18 depending on style.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
