Hello MandyJo......I think it is harder now but I have also not followed all the bandster rules. I know that if I work harder I will get to goal quicker but I still find it hard to get in the Water and exercise.

Your weight loss has been great....keep up the good work.

Mellisa and jsrico....we want pictures!

Wenjea.....happy belated birthday.....I am jealous because I am no where near done and I am having 2 parties this weekend....arrrgh!

Maureen

Hi everyone; I love my band!!!! It was really easy to loose the first 3 months. Now I really have to work at it. I am down 65 lbs. I hope to be close to my goal by July. How far is everyone from their goal? Has it been hard for you to lose after 6 months? I have noticed a change in it. How has your family coped with the change?

Manatee....thats great! Your goal seems quite low. Are you sure that you can go that low????

165 is "high normal" for a male 5'9" per the BMI charts.

My true goal is "looks good naked." The spare tire is down to a space saver, but it's still there.

I have given up on that goal....now I just want to not look so bad naked!!LOL

You have done a great job with your weight loss. I know that if I try harder I could lose faster but I am losing steady and since I have not told anyone about the surgery, nobody is questioning it! If I lost too fast, I know the nosy people would be asking!

I will start to kick up the exercise after the holidays....

cindy...

I LOVE my new haircut... I need to get a better pic though... the one I took didnt turn out so well... its very short... Victoria Beckham style (minus the blonde... and minus the alien like face.. haha.)

I cant wait to see yours! I had mine cut short, and then went back in and had it done shorter. After having long hair for years I was afraid I wouldnt like it short but I love it!

My scale has slowed down too. I would do almost anything to be able to fit into a 14 more comfortably though. It is kind of discouraging. I know I could be doing better with my food intake, its so so hard this time of year!

Happy Holidays All!!!

I went to the Doc for a fill last Friday, it is kicking my butt. I now have 2.6 in my 4cc band. I was having a problem with very little restriction before the fill, I thought I had 2.5 in my band. When he pulled out the saline it only showed that I had 2. He said that they must of written it down wrong. But would keep a close watch on it to see. Hope I don't have a leak. He said he did think so, since it was July when I had my last fill, if I had a leak it would all be gone by now. That made me fell better. But boy do I have restriction now. I am really have to work the banster ways of eating, because I just cant eat much at all now. So have to make the most of my intake.

Oh I read a very interesting article in one of WLS while waiting in the waitingroom. It made a comment that stuck me,

"When you are about six months out from having the surgery, you realise that the Honeymoon stage is now over. The wonder days of loosing the first 30-50 lbs without much effort is over. Now is the time that you have to come to the conclusion that you and your band are equal partners, and it is time for you to do your part......."

That is so where I am at now, I am working on doing my part, the band will not do it all on its own.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Laura

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
