I am pre-op hoping for surgery May or June. I have been reading a lot. I have some questions mostly about Vitamins. I know Vitalady is a wealth of info but why purchase from her rather than say CVS or Walgreens is the cost about the same? Also for a Multivitamin will a prenatal work? I am not pregnant nor can I get pregnant, I have just always taken the prenatal as my Multivitamin and wondered about continuing.

Also was wondering about Protein powders and drinks. What Proteins are complete and which ones aren't?

These are my two concerns about WLS is getting in the Vitamins and Proteins that I need.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Your nutritionist will give you a list of Vitamins to take and Protein powders and drinks. You try different ones and see what works for you. For me since I have a band, the pills got hard to swallow so I went to chewables. I use Viactiv for Calcium and Centrum burst chewables for multivitamin, they taste like skittles. Good luck.

Thanks angelface, best advice is to check with your surgeon's office..

yes, your doctor knows best...my friend still uses a pre-natal as her post surgery multi...but I don't.

Also, I know this bears repeating... you can fill out the form on InsureNutrition.com and you may qualify for free Protein shakes, scar cream and/or multi-vitamins!

Good luck.

      6 Weeks Post Op!

My world is drastically different! I now walk 3 to 4 miles a day and I’m constantly getting up to move my body! .

I close my Apple Watch rings daily and about 4 to 6 days a week I double or triple them!

I have been released to have all foods. When I reintroduce some I need to start at 1 ounce to see how “Tiny Tummy” likes it!

I am not reintroducing sugars, coffee or junk! I did not pay close to $13,000 to fail! .

I went to get follow up bloodwork done this week and my numbers are all in the perfect range! .

This is my new world and I am happy it!

Congratulations. It’s a great feeling when the weight disappears & you can start to do so much more. 😁

@DaisyChainOz, @Arabesque ... am totally thinking of both of you this very moment as I watch the final set of the Millman-Federer match at the AO... I am riveted and literally screaming at the TV...

I didn’t see it either but I wish I had now for both the battle on court & the ball tampering accusations flying around everywhere now.

Hate thinking about foods I used to love... Burgers & wings. Gotta stay focused. 😤

Think about all you will gain. Seriously, nothing is better than my size 4 jeans!

There is nothing wrong with burgers and wings...it's only the amount that is the issue. Why not have a burger but take away the bun? You dont need to eat the entire burger. My favorite is using the sous vide to cook them and then giving them a little color in the frying pan. It's all protein anyhow.

As for the wings, why not try making wings at home? By making your own sauce you can cut down on the empty calories.

By giving up foods, you can also cause issues, mental ones. The idea is to not eat all of it, but to enjoy a little portion. That's why we have the stomach changes to begin with. But in all takes things slowly and see what your stomach allows.
