This might sound crazy but we do an annual quad rally every year and it's so awesome. But I will only be 3.5 weeks out of surgery. Do you think I might be healed enough to go? How did others feel 3-4 weeks after surgery??

I know I felt 95% back to normal 3 - 4 days post op. Riding quads wouldn't have been a problem at all. Stunts and crazy risks that could get you thrown off wouldn't be wise. But regular riding I think would be fine. That's just based on my husband and my recoveries. I would ask your surgeon to be sure.

Thanks. We aren't stunters by any means but the trail gets rough. Thick mud to get through ect.

Can you ask your Dr.? I love quadding too

So I seen my doc on day 18 and she said I could go if I felt ok. I did feel good and went on a 10 hour rally. Driving was better because I could support myself with my legs and arms. My incisions didn't bother me at all unless I was riding. That was a little too bouncy. I sure felt it in my legs and arms the next day but it didn't affect my sleeve at all. If your ready you'll know, we heal fast. Hope this helps!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
