Anyone from Ontario on here?

When are you having your surgery done? Is it in Hamilton? I actually lived there till I was 13. Went to Adelaide Hoodless public school. Small world, lol.

I don't have a date yet. I'm going to meet with the dietician on Monday. It's my first step. It is all going to be through St. Joe's here in Hamilton. I requested the referral from my Dr almost three years ago... It took her 2 years until I finally realized she had no intention of sending me... Though she said she was in favor of it. Anyways, that's done... Positive thoughts now!!

I went to a private school in Hamilton. Had a bit of a sheltered upbringing. :-)

Hi all, I haven't been on here for a few weeks but I DID IT! May 28 was my day and I ended up havering the RNY bypass, my surgeon explained that the sleeve still doesn't have enough research on it and he's getting sleeve patients coming in with problems and the RNY has been around for 30 years and is proven most successful. I haven't been on because during my Optifast pre. Op diet I was also in the middle of moving from Brampton to Shelburne. The optifast was definitely the hardest the first 3 days, then it was a piece of cake, maybe because I was so busy from morning till night but I lost 12 lbs in that week and a half on it. I'm down 20lbs now including the 12 :). It's been 1 weeks today since surgery and I'm doing great, sometimes I feel like I didn't have the surgery! No pain thank God, I was up and walking the day of surgery and I think that helped too. Any questions feel free my bariatric friends xoxo

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
