Hi. I am a PSW in Ontario, Canada. I have been overweight all my life, but it really ballooned after I got married and had my two kids. I have been researching gastric bypass surgery for three years now, and after finally getting a new family doctor, I was referred to the variating program. Here in Ontario, we have provincial funding for our healthcare called OHIP. Gastric bypass surgery and vertical sleeve surgery can be funded through OHIP if you meet a specific criteria. My hope is that I'll be approved. I am scheduled to meet will a dietician in a group setting on May 12th, 2014. This will be my very first meeting since requesting a referral from my doctor on December 17t, 2013.
