Possible slip or erosion.......Prayers!

Recommended Posts

I had a horrid overfill........docs mistake, but I had 2cc in my band and wanted a .2cc fill. He gave me a 2cc fill. I was actually able to drink Water but the time it took to get home I was spitting foam. THe next day I was unable to keep my spit down and spitting up blood. He unfilled me to 2ccs again, but I can barely do liquids now 5 weeks later,,until dinnerr. dinner is fine. Doc I saw today says I probably have a slip, am waiting for xx-rays.... Prayers and good thoughts welcome!

Have you had a total unfill? I just went through the same thing and was unfilled for three weeks to heal. The blood is from irritation. My doctor compared it to irritated gums and how they bleed. I feel for you! You must be awfully dehydrated and anemic.

My prayers are with you. I know how anxious you can get waiting to find out if your band has slipped. When I had the barium swallow Tuesday I thought I was going to crawl out of my skin I was so nervous. Everything turned out fine and it just made me want to baby it even more.

Maybe you just need to have everything removed and let it rest. I can't believe after you were spitting up blood that they didn't remove all of the saline.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
