Some doctors offices require it if you have any symptoms that you might have sleep apnea, some insurances require it as well. My clinic required it after I had the symptoms, slight snoring and being very tired, not sleeping well, waking up multiple times during the night etc.

It was required for Health Net but I had one 2 years ago that was normal so they accepted it.

My surgeon required pulmonary and that doctor required the sleep study. They are looking for sleep apnea or other sleeping issues. Interestingly enough, lack of sleep is a huge contributor to excess weight gain. The body doesn't get enough rest so it hordes fat because it wants to conserve energy stores. Anyhow, some require it and some don't. I will say though that the sleep study was probably one of the worst nights sleep I had. The place I had to go to was soooo noisy. I could hear people snoring, the staff using a microwave, toilets flushing. I went home and took a 4 hour nap.

I did the in home sleep apnea test and my results were inconclusive so then I had to do the study in the "lab". I slept better there! Even with all the stuff hooked up to me in an unfamiliar place. They have a whole wing in a nice inn. I had like my own personal suite, they had us arrive at 5pm but lights out was 11 so we got to use the pool and sauna or we could hang out in our rooms and take a bubble bath, watch tv, or use the internet. They also provided Breakfast on our way out in the morning after out showers. I kinda felt spoiled lol.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
