kkrose, The reason I named myself ChristmasJanet is because I too thought I would be having the surgery in December or at least early January, but then I freaked out and put off some of the evaluations and stalled out. I am hoping to have the surgery done in March. I should know more after I have my nutritionist visit on Monday. We are going to be brave now!

Dear I was questioning this up until the mask was going over my face on the OR table! It's normal and for a couple of weeks after you will say what the hell did I do?! But in the end as I sit here at goal and 6 pills down from what I had to take... I am a happy camper and you will be too. We are addicted to food. It's hard because you just can give it up but you can have a better relationship with it and you will!

Yes, without a doubt it is 110% normal! I was the same way and when I woke up from surgery within hours was like 'all this anxiety and worrying, so wasn't worth it'. It's totally normal, it is a life changing surgery. I am four months post op and it is the best thing I have ever done.

kkrose Thanks for asking. I am doing well. I was supposed to have my surgery April 2, but I am postponing indefinitely for numerous reasons. on the upside, I am exercising and have been dropping a little on my own. When is your date? I see March 2014. Have you already had the surgery? I hope all goes really, really well for you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
