So this a.m. my teeny tiny HBP pill got stuck,:cry have been feeling it most of the day in my esophagus. Have been drinking h20 all day, had some cottage cheese for lunch, it still feels like its stuck.

All of a sudden I've been getting these small "snot-like" balls of stuff coming up my throat, I have to hack them up to spit them out.

Is this sliming?

Sorry I'm being so gross

ummm...??? what the hell is sliming.????:help:

Sliming happens when you swallow something too big to go thru the band right away---your body quickly manufactures a thick saliva to try to help the "object" go thru. if the saliva builds up too quickly to get thru the band--well--it's gotta come out somewhere--you get it in your mouth and you feel the need, quickly, to spit it out! it's gross--but it's manageable. really, sounds worse in writing than it is when happening. but--if you're not near a bathroom--then you're in trouble!

yeah...i've been recently introduced to all this---after my 2nd fill. i'm waiting until my next dr. appt (4/24) to talk about a slight unfill--or to see if i can manage to really unlearn my life-long habits of eating too much, too fast--which is trickier than i thought it would be.

It was if I was, excuse the term "hacking" up phlem balls. They would kinda just appear in the back of my throat. I just spit them out. Weren't bigger than a pea. Hasn't happened since.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
