Did you have Dr. Aceves at Almater Hospital?

Recommended Posts

I had surgery with Dr. aceves same day as SoCal Sleeve. They are top notch professional. They are with you every step of the way. You are never left alone wondering what will happen next. Nina is the one you'll be talking to then you get there and either Karla or Yolanda take you to all your tests. You have a very detailed interview with Dr. Campos he is a former sleever himself and a surgeon and nutritionist, he will explain everything and make you feel most comfortable. The hospital is impeccable the staff is seasoned. You will meet and see Dr. Aceves in the morning before surgery and he himself is wonderful. You have around the clock care and the doctors check on you a few times a day. I still to this day speak with Dr. Campos and Gaby, they follow up with you and check on you almost daily. You won't need much money. dinner is maybe $25. I brought $50 total and it was plenty. I also had a cc just in case. But never used it. I highly recommend Dr. Aceves and his team. They are a bit more expensive but you get the best care and follow up.

I would also like to add that I got an email from Gabby last week that they disected my stomach that was removed and found that I have a bad bacteria in my stomach that needs to be treated. I have been going to the Dr. for years with stomach aches and they never find anything wrong. They sent me a picture of my stomach and the picture of the bacteria with a full write up for me to bring to my doctor.

THat kind of service is well worth paying the extra money for.

I am down 33 lbs at 3 weeks!!!!

Hi everyone, that stupid bacteria is causing gastritis for me which is PAINFUL. I've already finished the antibiotics Dr. Aceves prescribed but they dont seem to have worked, I'll have to drive out and see him probably next week. Anyways my pain started around 5 months out from surgery just an FYI if you feel a painful burning sensation right in your gut (might include backache) go to your Dr. Immediately the pain really hurts.

I had my surgery with Dr Aceves back in September 2012. Great surgeon, great care and great everything. It was and still is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am certain I spent way over his surgery fee in fad diets, diet pills , programs etc over the years of trying to lose weight. I only wish it had been available to do many years ago. But better late then never. I certain you will be pleased with your decision. Take it one day at a time and I hope and pray you encounter no problems and are as thrilled with your results as I am. Good luck tomorrow and all those embarking on their weight loss journeys in the future! ????

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
