water guzzling

Recommended Posts

As vets, how many of you do this? Is it frowned upon? I guzzle Water quite well and can blast through 32 oz in under a few minutes. It occurred to me maybe this is not something I want to be good at, but it makes it very easy to drink and drink all day long, like a race horse.

I am only two weeks post op and they told me sips but I can and I do take several swallows of Water at a time with no problem. I am damn thirsty! Is it possible to stretch your sleeve? If so, gingerly drink... no race horse chugging. :D

By "vets", I mean post 1 year and later. The post op newbies should definitely drink according to advice from wls team. Usually this starts out as sipping until the sleeve allows a better velocity. After 1 year, everyone should not have Water restriction that they had 1st few months. I know that I have to drink more than average because of high intensity workouts, high Protein consumption and use of supplementation. Need to keep system clean. I also have a desire to drink water often because of thirst and water is very satisfying. So my questions remains: is it a good thing to chug? Is it a bad thing? Does it matter?

I don’t chug but then again I don’t drink Water never have, weekly I don’t even drink a glass of it plan on its own.
I used to like Water but water wasn’t my friend after the op and its kinda still not my friend so just water nope.
Do I chug any drinks? Nope if I go too fast I puke it all up so for me no chugging.

I can and do drink normally now. Just all of a sudden I could. I don't remember when that was, I'm not sure how far out, a year, maybe longer.

Yes, I realized this after posting it. Do not know how to move it though. Maybe a host can help me out with that.

For now I am going to consider it an asset rather than a liability to be able to drink a lot of Water daily.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
