What do you take for a headache?

Recommended Posts

Do you use liquid acetaminophen or tylenol crushed up? I am not sure what to use for cramps and headaches and usually take a 1/2 of zanax.

I don't have any problems swallowing whole pills so I just take regular tylenol tablets.

I'm too scared to take a tylenol or ibuprofen pill so I take liquid tylenol. It's tastes disgusting (like it did when I was a kid), but I think it works faster in liquid form too.

I am also scared to take tylenol in pill form. What brand do you get of liquid tylenol or where do you get it? I looked and could not find Tylenol for adults in the liquid form. I found generic versions that I may just get.

My dr said that Iburofen (sp?) is not allowed. He stated it could cause stomach ulcers.

Liquid tylenol is very hard to find! I found the adult generic version at CVS. I couldn't find anything at Walgreens. I wanted to take ibuprofen in liquid form and the pharmacist said to take the children's version (yuk!). Someone on this sight said the liquid will go right down instead of sitting in your stomach so it's less likely to cause stomach issues. I find tylenol is better for headaches, but ibuprofen is best for achy muscles. I hope it works for you. Sometimes my headaches are so bad I feel nauseous. Then I get petrified that I'm going to throw up and slip my band.

I use the generic uncoated Tylenol tablets and I crush them. If I'm in a pinch I'll use a capsule and break in half.. I'm afraid of large pills since getting into the green.

DON'T TAKE IBUPROFEN it's horrible for your stomach. Liquid Tylenol or generic is the best, it works fast, it's amazing!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
