I made it!

My surgery was Tuesday at 8 am. I woke up in a lot of pain and pretty disoriented but I once I got some pain meds in me I felt better. The pain wasn't bad at all and I haven't been hungry since I woke up. I had some minimal complications with my heart wanting to beat at 150-160 but they got me well hydrated and that resolved it self. The most painful part of the whole thing was when my IV blew today and filled my arm with magnesium.

I'm home now. Working on setting up meals for the week. I lost 15 lbs on my preop diet but I've gained it all back in fluid. The good thing is that I'm sure I've still been burning fat so I expect with in a few days I'll be on my way to losing again.

So glad you are home and recovering. And the pain is manageable. I go tomorrow morning and I'm having several breakdowns worrying if I will be ok.. Glad to hear you are doing well!! Keep up the posts in your recovery.

so they approved my surgery today. BUT because my two reports about my gallstones are conflicting i need to have an

ultrasound hopefully by Monday to confirm it so my insurance will cover it. But either way my bypass is all set. The minute she told

me I started to panic when it became real. But i'm good now. :)

Congratulations!!! What date did you end up with?!

I'm scheduled for March 24! So nervous, so excited! I'm ready to get on with it to be past the operation...

Just talked to BCBS Anthem. They said they have APPROVED the authorization for inpatient services for 03/31/2014. So, I emailed the insurance guru at my doctor's office to see if that means...ya know...approved approved and we are good to go. I hope he gets back to me...I am normally a patient planner, but this has got me so impatient! LOL

Just got an automated survey call from BCBS Anthem about my upcoming hospital stay....I guess it truly is a green light. OMG!

Mine was march 3rd for gastric bypass! Honestly I am not in pain at all I'm sore a little but I was fine after surgery and the day after even since I can home 2 days ago I haven't even needed my pain meds! Hope everyone's surgery goes great! I would honest do it over again no regrets!

Finally home yesterday.. Had my surgery on the 4th. I don't have much pain so I don't think I'll take any pain relief anymore ( makes e dizzy). I have a hernia on my right side a small one and dr said he will look at it after I lost the weight. Only real pain I felt was the gas in chest. A lot of walking and burping.. I weighed myself when I got home.. I put on 12 pounds on fluid!!!! How long till u lost that weight? Going to go for a walk today. So funny not even slightly hungry or sick. Hope stays that way. My twins missed me and keep wanting to jump on me. I think that's the most difficult part, not being able to carry them. Good luck all who have had surgery and are about too!!!!!

My surgery is Thursday March 13, 2014 and birthday March 17 so this is my gift to myself I will turn the big 30 so excited about both

@Mclosin my surgery is the 10th as well. It still wasn't feeling real until yesterday when I had my History and physical appointment. I was asked on video why I wanted the surgery, what I'd say to myself in 6 mos if I was having a hard time and what if I died. I tell you it was hard to answer those questions though I imagine I have asked myself the same questions a thousand times. But just like dreaming said, if we could have done it by ourselves we would have already, many many times. This is the tool to help us do it and help us keep it off this time. We likely decided a long time ago to have WLS we are just now doing it for ourselves. Best of luck and a wishing a speedy recovery for you!

@ljgh73 wow! A video, that's putting you on the spot and I'm glad I didn't have to do that. And I'm gonna be really honest here. If they would have asked me that, I'd have said....because I just want to be skinny, then healthy LOL. I just went to my preop appt yesterday and then to the hospitals for a meeting with the anesthesiologist and since then, my worry kind of faded. I'm ready ????. Good luck to you, I wanna hear about your experience. We can be each others soundboard and support.

@blue614 sorry I took so long to reply I was trying to get my doctors in order. Well juswant to reply back to you. Well call my bariatic clinic today my doctor cleared me. So my appointment for my surgeon got pushed to the 19th but they're planning to do my bypass in april. Seem so far away. So how are you doing ? Your date is jus about here.

Glad your doing so well! I hope I am that lucky! My biggest worry right now it my 2 year old daughter, I don't know how I'm going to avoid picking her up. I've already shed some tears over it. I know it's going to be hard. Especially since she won't understand why mommy can't pick her up. I'm a single mom so we're pretty attached to each other. I know it'll all work out, but that is my main concern.

I hope you continue to have a smooth recovery :)
