Eight weekers! How are you feeling?

Recommended Posts

I had surgery Nov. 22nd. I feel great! I'm down 48 lbs and loving it. It's great to hear everyone else is doing well too. I did hit a three week stall not too long after surgery and that was frustrating. However, I do understand the weight WILL come off. I find so much support on this website so this is where I come for learning and understanding. Good job everybody! I look forward to the updates!

You're worth it!

Hi there. I don't get my sleeve until March but wanted to say congrats on ur loss. Ur doing great

Thanks! I had a tough time in the beginning and often wondered if I was going to regret it... However, as I healed, got my energy back and then started getting along better with food, my whole feeling changed. I feel good about my weight loss yet am still working on getting enough Protein. You may not find it easy, but you will find its worth it...

My husband and I are both over 8 weeks out and could not be happier. Over 40 lbs. down each. I used to envy a man I admired for saying I eat to live, I don't live to eat. I swear I can now say that and mean it. I don't have that screaming pain my my stomach anymore that says feed me! Good job everyone. I wish I could have had the sleeve 10 years ago, not at 66. But thankful still.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
