Ready to go the distance.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Like every overweight person we have tried everything. And each time I find the next best diet or exercise program, I am all in. This is going to be the ONE, I can see myself at the end of it thin and so proud that finally it worked for me. Each one has ended with the same result, disappointment that it didn't work, embarrassment that everyone that knew I was trying a new program will know I failed again.

It's not the plan or the exercise it's the results. I have no issues working out. Even at 300 lbs I can keep up with the fit ones, I have done 78 Burpees in a hour plus a full workout.

So surgery is my next destination. I'm excited, scared, nervous, about every emotion is there. I go to my first class tomorrow. So I am starting the process, willing to go the distance to get this done.

This site has been a inspiration so I thought I would sign up and get started with my journey.

Not sure which surgery, hoping my insurance approves me and that the surgery won't be to far away.

Would love to hear any and all suggestions you would have.

Thanks for supporting me on this and can't wait to share my story with all of you. And support all of you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
