So I've been hovering within the same 10lbs since OCTOBER! It's making me crazy! I get like 80-100 G protein/day and stay under 1200 cals. I also exercise at least 3 days a week. I don't understand. It's so frustrating that I just want to throw in the towel and eat a damn pizza. I can't continue to do what I'm doing without every dropping any weight. Getting very depressed.

Please don't get discouraged ,you had the courage to come this far why would you erase all your hard work. There are things you can try. Maybe a little less calories, a little more exercise ,just until you get past the bump in the road. Trust yourself, you can do it!

I know how hard it can be to stay positive in times like those... I hit a plateau in my loss and I increased my exercise and Water intake, the scale moved shortly after that. My NUT told me it would have moved anyway regardless of the changes I made, she said sometimes our bodies are stubborn and we just have to wait it out. Try not to be discouraged and don't sabotage all the hard work you have done! Resist temptation and rise above, you are beautiful.

Thank you very much guys.... I'm trying not to be a Debbie Downer and have done decently with my attitude (considering I've been "stalled" for 3 months)... I'm going to try the Five Day Pouch Test to see if getting back to liquids for a few days will help me restart. I feel like I've tried everything except going back to liquids for a few days, so here's to hoping it works! I appreciate your responses! <3 <3 <3

From one stubborn body to another, let me just say I fully emphasize. Keep on going.

How close to goal are you? Could you be so close, meaning so small you might be maintaining? If so maybe staying the same should be a victory. :)

I would suggest getting off your strict diet for 2 days and eat within reason. Have some pizza but a normal portion. Once you hit your diet again you will be refreshed

I'm actually still 88 lbs away from goal.. :( it's ok... I'm doing liquids for a few days to hopefully "jump start" weight loss again. If that doesn't help, I may go the opposite route and eat more calories to see if I have maybe been TOO strict.

Oh I would definitely say then maybe you are being too strict. Have a few higher calorie days while still drinking your Water and getting your Protein in and I bet you start to lose again. Im in a stall right now too so you aren't alone. Hang in there I'm here for ya!!!

When you get done with the liquids, I would really encourage you to do a food diary, like MyFitnessPal.com. I have been stalled myself this week, and I know exactly the reason. Even though my calories have been under 900 a day, and I have been getting exercise, I know that I have been eating foods higher in fat. The past two days I have been more on track, and the scale is starting to move in the right direction again. You have come SO far! Rededicate! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

You mean there is still hope that someday I will be able to eat a piece of pizza? ??

Thanks everyone! I didn't think about looking at my fat grams. I love MFP and use it daily. I pay close attention to my carbs, cals, and Protein, but never really look at fat. I'll start paying more attention. My scale actually went down 4lbs today, but I'm sure that's just Water weight from peeing about 6993749289 times yesterday (hello, liquid diet! Haha)...I'll figure this out. I want to let you all know just how much I appreciate your comments and support!!! This weight loss thing is so hard, but it's great to be able to come and get some advice/encouragement! <3

You are not alone. Join some more of us in the 'Slow Losers Thread'. I also had my surgery in October and have resigned myself now to the fact that it's better to be a slow loser than a no loser :-)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
