February 2014 bandsters?

Recommended Posts

Well I haven't had the chance to be on in what seems like forever... but I thought I would catch you all up! After a long two week search I finally found a cab to take me the four hours to the hospital where my surgery is! And I got re-connected with my older sister after eight years of not speaking! She is very encouraging of me and the lap band! Shes even going to bring me home from the hospital so I dont have to wait for another cab! Excitement all around!!

That's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you!

Thank you! I hope I do too because I have only told one person about my surgery, so I don't have much support.

Well, I'm over 1/3 the way on the pre op diet! It did get easier after the first few days...but 3 weeks of Opti fast is a long time! The scales moved fast at first and now, not so fast. Surgery is February 6. Excited, worried I won't be successful over he long haul, and ready for this new journey, all at the same time! My surgery is in Tampa.

You'll do fine. During my hiatus from ANY forum was to get my head right on what I had to do to be successful. It's all mental I've come to realize the lap band (for me) is a "halt" tool. Stop eating so dang much! Lol. I can't wait until my date! Congrats again. You'll be successful.

8 days away from scheduled surgery date and still dont know if my doc will sign off on me to get the surgery or not. Find out on the 30th after blood work to see if " im just a person with a normal high white blood count" nothing like white knuckling it to the last moments!

Slinkie did you have pre op bloodwork this far in advance ? I've had nothing and won't have any lab work done until the morning before the surgery.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
