Oh yes very nervous, hopefully I don't chicken out lol, I had my gall bladder surgery scheduled 2 times over the past few years & canceled I just been dealing with the pain, but I'm ready for a change ready to drop this weight & get to do so much more with my kiddos.

I had the ultrasound and I don't have Gall stones so my gall bladder is safe for now. Im getting so nervous. my surgery is one week from tomorrow on Jan 28th. Kenny I think ours is around the same day. I am getting nervous. I just went to Vitamin Shoppe and met a really great employee who helped me out. We bought Isopure and calcium citrate liquid. He said Flintstone Vitamins are not that great because it has synthetic Vitamin E or something. I already bought a huge bottle so it will have to do for now.

Yes my surgery is the 28th also. I haven't bought anything but some broth yet. Lol I go Thursday to meet with the dietician & do pre op tests. My friend had surgery Friday with the same dr I'm using he came through good & already lost 10lbs. I'm nervous but hoping for the best.

How awesome to have a friend with same doctor do it too! My friend is doing it but not until April. I did all my pre-op. I'm ready, I think.

Good luck to all you January newbies, I'm scheduled for Fed. 17th and am getting very excited. I found a great site for Vitamins and the prices are amazing and they even have done bariatric specific stuff (pipingrock.com) check it out and I will be anxious to see how you do :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
