36 and sleeved in June 2014. In addition to being high risk because of my age I also have a uterine complication. I am currently 15 weeks along and have lost 20 pounds since becoming pregnant. Extreme morning sickness is to blame. I'm worried about my health and my babies. I'm hoping this forum can help me get through this.....as I see I'm not alone in being pregnant! :)

not to take this off topic but is it universal that a pregnancy is "high risk" simply bc the woman had ANY bariatric surgery (sleeve, band, etc.)? or does it have to be one of the malabsorbative ones (bypass, RnY, etc.)?

thanks (from a future mama and potential sleever trying to make difficult decisions)

My OB doesn't consider me high risk and I've had 2 bariatric surgeries (lap band in 2008 and gastric sleeve in 2013). I am watching my fluids and Protein, but other than that, I'm not doing anything different than I did with my son - oh and I'm not gaining 100lbs either!!!

I am 35 as well, 3 mo preg with my third child. All of my preg were post op gastric bypass. The only real concerns with any if my preg as well as my current one is my severe anemia. I don't absorb Iron well and will prob have to have iron infusions again, but have had easy preg otherwise.

No Amnio,It puts the baby at too much of a risk Fluid loss. What does the Doc want to do that for? To check for issues I'm sure. But, either way, you'll love your baby. I had my daughter at 36, my son at 35 and they told me he had a soft marker for Down's syndrome. I was scared at first but , I realized if it's meant to be its meant to be. He is my child and I will do anything and everything to have my child :) He was born with out Down's syndrome. But our neonatologist said I had a 1:27 chance odd having a child with Down's. It doesn't matter,, the only thing that mattered was my son and me wanting to give him kisses all the time :)

It's been such a long time since I've been on here. I've had a second baby since. I got preggo just 4 months after having the last baby. I guess i don't absorb pills too well lol well I had my 3rd son 12/6/14. I gained 40 lbs and have lost 50 since having him!

Oh that's odd...I'm currently 36w6d pregnant with my first but I'm high-risk because of my blood pressure. The doctors had no concern over me having the sleeve but I wonder if other wls may cause some to be high risk. The one good thing about high risk is I'm able to see the baby more because I have more scans to make sure he's growing :-) I'm sure you'll be just fine :-)

I am 36 and 20 months post op and I just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant. I am scared of everything this go round. I have had two children previous to surgery; however that was 13 years ago. I am afraid of gaining too much weight, afraid of not gaining enough, my age and just how much this is going to change everything. I am excited now that the shock has worn off but so nervous. Any support, suggestions or stories would be apperciated.

I'm 28, post op with the sleeve, 5.5 weeks pregnant and considered high risk because of my previous fertility issues and they just want to make sure baby is growing as it should. Not many doctors are even aware that the sleeve isn't malabsorptive, they just bundle all the bariatric surgeries as the same...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
