Is your weight loss surgeon morbidly obese?

Recommended Posts

My Doctor Needleman, no way. He's a shooter of clay pigeons and targets, loves the outdoors. But he plays tennis, both for enjoyment and because he is doggone good at Tim Although I can't confirm it, I suspect he has the beautifully toned legs you find in tennis and soccer males. Dr Noria runs and I suspect has competed in as many marathons as I have baking contests. So both of them not only Talk the Talk about better health & living a healthier diet, they Walk the Walk as well. And neither has reached 50 unless Dr Needlnan has had a birthday!😷&😷God Watch over and bless them, they have and are making a profound change in MY LIFE!

At the Bariatric practice I go to everyone seems to be of average weight. There are a couple office staff that are on the chunky side but nobody obese that I’ve seen. The 3 surgeons are fit and fabulous. That said, I have seen cardiologists that should lose some lbs and hairdressers with frizzy fried hair.

Actually my GP is quite overweight and I felt like because of it, he never took my concerns about my own weight very seriously. He would just say things like “well, if I had the magic wand for that...” (and pat his tummy) Finally I made an appt with the NP and talked/cried to her about my weight concerns. She was actually the one who suggested bariatric surgery. I love her for it : )

My surgeon + staff are thin, but that is unsurprising as I live in a city where there are few overweight people. (I think they hide them or something.) I have to add that I know some cardiac surgeons who are smokers, and that really blows my mind.

That said, I would be uncomfortable consulting someone in the field of obesity and obesity research who is obese. I recall a time when I was in my twenties and I wanted to consult a therapist to see if I could find out WHY I had this weight problem. So I go to this woman who was highly recommended, but when I had my first appointment and saw she was 300 pounds, I knew I would not take anything she said seriously. Physician, help thyself!

Agreed! When I was a little Sin I saw my Grandmother's pastor doing some pretty heavy kissing on one of the nurses. He was married of course. I'll never forget that. He was a fire and brimstone type of dude too. Always had something bad to say about women and how they dress, and their proper place in the world. What a great moral compass he was!

Obviously he subscribed to the "Do As I Say, Not as I Do" school of theology! Somebody ought to pull their accreditation, those diplomas are as bad as Trump University and I have heard a lot of people complaining of being defrauded there!

My surgeon is VERY thin, however, her husband and partner is a bariatric patient. The NP that does my fills is also banded, and I think one of the front desk girls.

I'm a patient of her husband's. I love the fact that he has a band. He understands me when I discuss issues with him.

Hahaha... my surgeon is chubby. Not bariatric surgery size chubby. But he is definitely a round-faced dude (pic of him on my profile). Several of his staff have had WLS. Most are average-sized... but I'm not sure which have had the surgery and which haven't.

My surgeon isn't fat but he doesn't make my panties wet either. (Sorry Doc if you see this please don't leave a piece of gauze inside of me. I still think your french accent is f**king hot!)

My surgeon just recently had bypass. He’s not a huge guy but he definitely has some weight on him before.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
